Do I talk to “real doctors”?Yes. Teladoc members only talk to actual doctors who are U.S. board-certified internists, state-licensed family practitioners, and pediatricians licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. and living in the U.S. When you request a visit, Teladoc will connect you with a doctor licensed in your state.

What are some of the common conditions Teladoc treats?Common conditions include sinus problems, respiratory infection, allergies, flu symptoms, and many other non-emergency illnesses.

Can Teladoc handle my emergency situations?Teladoc is designed to handle non-emergent medical problems. You should NOT use it if you are experiencing a medical emergency.

Can I request a particular doctor?You cannot request a particular doctor. Teladoc is designed to support your relationship with your existing doctor. It is not a means of establishing an exclusive relationship with one of our doctors. All Teladoc doctors are board-certified, state-licensed and go through rigorous training and credentialing.

Can I use it for my family?Yes, the HealthiestYou complete bundle allows you to use the Teladoc service for you, your spouse and your dependents.

Can I get a prescription?Teladoc does not guarantee prescriptions. It is up to the doctor to recommend the best treatment. Teladoc doctors do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by the DEA, non-therapeutic, and/or certain other drugs which may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. How are prescriptions sent to the pharmacy?Teladoc does not dispense prescription drugs. If the doctor prescribes medication, it is submitted electronically (SureScripts) or by phone to the pharmacy of your choice.

Is my electronic health record kept private?Health records are kept totally private and we employ robust encryption methods to protect your personal information. You determine who can see the information in your record.

Can I talk to the same specialist each time I request a visit?Yes. A member can choose to see the same specialist or a different one. It’s your choice.

How secure is the communication line and who retains my medical records?Confidentiality is very important to Teladoc and we follow the same strict security protocols as we do for our core services. All medical records are kept in a secure environment and Teladoc does not share the information with anyone outside of the patient’s specific request or as required by law.

How do I access this service?Members can access the Behavioral Health service by logging into their account or by calling customer service.

What type of equipment do I need for a Behavioral Health visit?You will need a telephone for telephonic visits. For video visits, you will need to have internet connectivity and webcam. Video visits are strongly encouraged by our specialists.

What if I need medication?Psychiatrists are able to prescribe from a limited formulary. If the Behavioral Health specialist determines a different/higher level medication is appropriate, they may refer you for an in-person visit.

Can I select my doctor based on preferences such as specialty, gender, language?"Our specialist profiles display information about each Teladoc professional, including gender, language, and specialty. This information will display when making your specialist selection online.

Will I be able to schedule recurring appointments? If so, how far in advance can I schedule?"At the end of the visit, the provider will schedule a follow up if the individual specialist deems necessary. At this time, only the next visit can be scheduled.

Is there bilingual assistance provided when I contact Teladoc for the visit?Teladoc does display a provider’s languages on the profile screen when making your selection. If a bilingual Teladoc specialist is not available, an interpreter will be provided.

What are my payment options?STDCheck currently accepts Credit cards, pre-paid debit cards, cashiers checks, money orders, HSA accounts, FSA accounts, and PayPal. The member can present their insurance card at the lab and ask the lab to file a claim for reimbursement to the member. How does the process work? After you place your test order online or by phone, STDCheck will fax a doctor-authorized test requisition to the local lab of your choosing. At the lab walk-in visit, you’ll have a quick specimen draw. For most people, the lab visit takes about 15 minutes. In 3 business days or less, you’ll receive a discreet email directing you to login to your secure account on the STDCheck system to view your test results. For patients whose test results are positive or require further explanation, you are able to request a consult with a STDCheck doctor. If appropriate, the doctor will write a prescription for treatment or provide linkage to further care.

How quickly can I speak with a physician?If you have a medical emergency, please go to the emergency room or call 911. When should I choose mental health services?We can help if you're not feeling like yourself, confused about a personal situation, experiencing anxiety or depression, or overwhelmed with everything going on. mental health services allow you to schedule a visit with a licensed therapist, or to schedule an appointment with a board-certified psychiatrist for help managing medications or more-serious diagnoses. Therapists and psychiatrists are available for appointments seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time, from wherever you are most comfortable, by phone or video. Visits with a therapist only last as long as you feel you need them.

How do I schedule a mental health visit?Go online, use the HealthiestYou app, or call us to schedule a visit. Before your visit, you will complete a brief mental health questionnaire to help your therapist or psychiatrist understand where you’re at and how you’re feeling. You can choose a therapist or psychiatrist and propose three times that work best for you. Your chosen provider will work on coordinating the schedule with you through the message center.

Is there a time limit on visits?The amount of time allocated to a visit varies depending on the treatment you seek: Everyday Care: There is no time limit, however most issues are resolved in under 15 minutes. mental health: The average mental health visit is 45 minutes, similar to an in-person therapy visit. Dermatology: All communication between you and your dermatologist is through Teladoc’s secure message center. You can ask follow-up questions at no charge for up to seven days and request the same dermatologist for subsequent consults if you wish.

How do I start my video visit?To join a video visit, log in to your account on HealthiestYou.com or the HealthiestYou mobile app and click “Join Waiting Room.” Please note that you cannot join a video visit through FaceTime or Skype. If you have requested an ASAP visit, please enter the Waiting Room as soon as you have requested your video visit. The provider will meet you in the Waiting Room when they become available. If you have requested a scheduled visit, please enter the Waiting Room at the day and time you have requested. You will receive a reminder by email or text 10 minutes prior to your scheduled visit time. Please note: Video visits cannot be joined through FaceTime or Skype. They must be joined from within the mobile app or through your Teladoc account.

How do I get ready for my video visit?Once you schedule a video visit, you will be asked to test your audio and video quality. This page runs simple tests on both your audio and video quality. What should I do if I need to cancel a scheduled visit?You can cancel your visit on HealthiestYou.com or the HealthiestYou mobile app. After logging in to your account, navigate to your "Upcoming Visit” details, found on the homepage. What will happen after I schedule a visit?After you have submitted your visit request, you will receive notifications when: Your visit request is confirmed The provider is reviewing your medical history (the provider generally reviews your medical history 5-10 minutes prior to the start of your visit) The provider is ready to see you If you have requested an as-soon-as-possible visit, please enter the Waiting Room as soon as you have requested your video visit. The provider will meet you in the Waiting Room when they become available. If you have requested a scheduled visit, please enter the Waiting Room at the day and time you have requested. You will receive a reminder by email or text 10 minutes prior to your scheduled visit time.

How does the process work?After you place your test order online or by phone, STDCheck will fax a doctor-authorized test requisition to the local lab of your choosing. At the lab walk-in visit, you’ll have a quick specimen draw. The lab visit typically takes about 15 minutes. In three business days or less, you’ll receive a discreet email directing you to log in to your secure account on the STDCheck system to view your test results. For patients whose test results are positive or require further explanation, you are able to request a consult with an STDCheck doctor. If appropriate, the doctor will write a prescription for treatment or provide linkage to further care.

How quickly can I get my lab results?Lab results are finalized and sent to you discreetly in three business days or less. For patients who receive positive STD test results, or whose results require further explanation, a consult may be requested with an STDCheck doctor at a time that is convenient for you. Once you request a consult, a doctor will call you back.

Will my lab results be added to my medical record?No. Please contact STDCheck to request your lab test-specific medical record.

Can my lab results be sent to my main doctor?Yes. You can request a copy of your lab test through the STDCheck website.

How much does it cost?Pricing for STD individual tests and panels is available on the STDCheck site. STDCheck currently accepts credit cards, prepaid debit cards, cashier's checks, money orders, health savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), and PayPal. The member can present their insurance card at the lab and ask the lab to file a claim for reimbursement to the member.

Do I have to travel or collect my own medical records?No. We will handle everything for you. All your contact with us is over the phone or online. You do not need to travel or contact your doctor(s) to obtain records, images, or other information related to your case.

How much do Teladoc Medical Experts services cost?The services are at no cost to you or your eligible dependents. Any tests and treatment options recommended by one of our medical specialists are not paid through Teladoc; those payments will depend on the terms of a member’s health insurance coverage. All recommendations from our specialists are completely voluntary.

If I use Medical Experts services, does that mean Teladoc is now my treating physician?"No. Teladoc Medical Experts provides medical information only. These services do not provide medical care, diagnoses, or treatments. You will not be a patient of Teladoc or of any Teladoc Health expert who reviews your case. These services are only for additional medical insight on your condition. No doctor-patient relationship will be created between you and Teladoc or you and a medical expert. Your treating physician is still responsible for your care and all treatment decisions will be made solely between you and your treating physician.
